In Mangalore, we hosted an engaging five-day Ghoomar, dance workshop that attracted more than 15 enthusiastic participants. This workshop was a wonderful opportunity for students to immerse themselves in the beauty of semi-classical dance, under the guidance of Shwetha Arehole, a well-known classical dancer, theatre and movie artist. Throughout the sessions, attendees learned the intricate footwork, graceful movements, and cultural significance of the dance. On the final day of the Ghoomar dance workshop in Mangalore, participants had the opportunity to showcase what they had learned in a special presentation. Held in front of their proud parents and honored guests, this small but meaningful event highlighted the progress and dedication of each participant throughout the workshop. It was a moment of celebration and appreciation for the participants’ hard work and the supportive atmosphere fostered during the workshop. The presentation not only demonstrated their newfound skills in semi-classical dance but also marked a memorable conclusion to an enriching cultural experience in Mangalore.
